mxm-chorus-06 manual

Four knobs. The three original chorus settings are exact stops on the Rate knob and are also included as presets.

This is the same DSP used inside mxm-poly-06.

Controls

Rate — 0.05 … 10.00 Hz, Init 0.50 Hz

Sets the speed of the triangle wave that moves both delay lines.

The three circuit settings are 0.5 Hz (I), 0.8 Hz (II), and 1.3 Hz (I + II). Slower settings drift gently; faster settings move towards vibrato.

Depth — 0.00 … 2.40 ms, Init 1.20 ms

Sets how far the delay time moves. 1.20 ms matches the circuit. At zero, the lines stop moving and you hear a fixed comb-filter effect.

Mix — 0 … 100%, Init 100%

Adds the wet chorus while leaving the dry signal unchanged.

Zero switches the effect off and clears the delay lines. Turning it back up always starts with an empty buffer, so an old sound cannot pop out.

Noise — 0 … 100%, Init 100%

Sets the bucket-brigade hiss. Init matches the circuit; turn it down whenever you want a cleaner chorus.

The display

The two dots show the left and right delay times crossing. The shaded area shows the range set by Depth. The animation follows the actual audio modulator.

At Mix zero, the dots disappear and the display says Off.
