Minimal Archetype

A basic Archetype content type, that can be unpacked in the products directory, and used as a base for new content types.

All unique variables use MinimalArchetype as part of their name.

Doing a global search and replace of content, file- & directory-names will create a new Archetypes based product.

The "" script inside the package can do the heavy work for you.

Just call it from the command line, and it will replace all occurences of "MinimalArchetype" with the name you select.

Eg. if you want a product called "MyArchetype", Just rename the "MinimalArchetype" folder to "MyArchetype". Go into it and run:

> MyArchetype

Then you have a new Archetype product with the name MyArchetype that is ready to be put into the Product directory.

"" is very powerfull. It recursively renames files and folders, and content in files from the directory where it is called.

Run it in the root of your machine and you can loose a lifetime worth of stuff.

If that makes you nervous, just use your favourite editor to do a:

    Search: MinimalArchetype
    Replace: YourContentName

On both file content, file- and folder-names, and you should be good to go.

Archetypes version?

Posted by Anonymous User at 2005-04-07 10:16 PM
What version of Archetypes is this compatible with? I am assuming it is the 1.3.x series, but it isn't mentioned on this page.

Works with 1.3.x for me
